You Don't Have to Walk Through It Alone.
We all have hurts, habits, and hang-ups that can keep us from experiencing the life God desires for us.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, biblically based recovery ministry where you can find hope, healing, encouragement, and a community of people walking the journey together.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come. You don’t have to have the right words. And you don’t have to pretend everything is okay.
Come as you are.
What Is Celebrate Recovery?
Celebrate Recovery, often called CR, is a Christ-centered recovery program designed to help people find freedom from the hurts, habits, and hang-ups that affect their lives.
CR combines the 12 Steps of recovery with biblical principles, placing Jesus Christ at the center of the recovery journey. Its 8 Principles are based on the Beatitudes taught by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.
Recovery isn’t simply about stopping a behavior. It’s about allowing God to heal what’s underneath it, learning healthier ways to live, restoring relationships, and growing in our relationship with Christ.
Who Is Celebrate Recovery For?
Celebrate Recovery is for everyone.
One of the biggest misconceptions about CR is that it’s only for people struggling with drugs or alcohol. Substance use is certainly one reason people come to Celebrate Recovery—but it’s far from the only one.
People come to CR while working through things such as:
Alcohol or drug addiction
Anger
Anxiety and fear
Codependency
Grief and loss
Relationship struggles
Family dysfunction
Control and perfectionism
Food and body-image struggles
Gambling
Sexual struggles
Past emotional, physical, or sexual abuse
Unhealthy behaviors and compulsions
And many other hurts, habits, and hang-ups
You don’t need to decide whether your struggle is “bad enough.”
If something in your life is causing pain, keeping you stuck, or getting between you and the life God wants for you, there’s a place for you at Celebrate Recovery.

What Should I Expect?
Walking into a recovery meeting for the first time can feel intimidating. We understand.
At Journey Church, you’ll find people from different backgrounds and different places in their journey. Nobody arrives with a perfect life.
Celebrate Recovery is designed to be a safe, supportive, and confidential environment where people can be honest about life’s struggles without judgment.
You can participate at your own pace. You don’t have to walk through the door ready to tell everyone your story.
Showing up is enough for your first night.
What Makes CR Different?
Celebrate Recovery recognizes Jesus Christ as our Higher Power.
The program uses the Christ-centered 12 Steps along with 8 biblical recovery principles based on Jesus’ Beatitudes. Through those principles, participants learn to honestly examine their lives, take responsibility for their choices, experience God’s grace and forgiveness, repair relationships where appropriate, develop healthier habits, and help others along their own recovery journey.
CR isn’t about achieving perfection.
It’s about progress, healing, freedom, and allowing Christ to change our lives one step at a time.
A Safe Place to Be Honest
Recovery requires honesty—but honesty is difficult when we’re afraid of being judged.
That’s why safety and confidentiality are important parts of Celebrate Recovery.
CR is a place where you can listen, learn, share when you’re ready, build relationships, and discover that you aren’t the only person carrying something difficult.
You are not expected to fix anyone else, and nobody is there to fix you.
We’re here to encourage one another while allowing God to do the healing.
The 12 Steps & 8 Principles
Celebrate Recovery uses the familiar 12-step recovery model while intentionally connecting each step to biblical truth and Jesus Christ.
The program also follows 8 Recovery Principles based on the Beatitudes in Matthew 5.
Together, they provide a practical path toward:
Honesty → Hope → Surrender → Healing → Growth → Freedom → Helping Others
Recovery doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a journey—and you don’t have to make that journey by yourself.
Do I Have to Be a Member of Journey Church?
No.
Celebrate Recovery is a ministry of Journey Church, but you don’t need to be a church member to attend.
Whether you’ve attended Journey for years, attend another church, haven’t been inside a church in decades, or are simply trying to figure out what you believe, you’re welcome to come.
There is a seat for you.
Your First Step Can Be Simple
You don’t need to wait until everything falls apart.
You don’t need to clean yourself up first.
You don’t need to know exactly what recovery is going to look like.
Just come.
Have dinner with us. Meet some people. Listen. See what Celebrate Recovery is about.
Sometimes the hardest part of recovery is simply walking through the door for the first time.
We’ll be glad you’re here.
